This is the first issue of a series of alphabetic/letter inspired chapbooks focusing on minimalism and typography. I would like to think of it as a collage poem. My experimentation with minimalism has led to some interesting results. I enjoy the pace of creating a work like this — it took no longer than 48 hours — and the spontaneity working with online tools grants me. This particular series will be created by using Canva, an online publishing and design tool. The limitations (in relation to fonts, design and layout etc.) allow for a fluid and spontaneous experimentation. In the case of these chapbooks, I have decided to use Google Fonts and keep it as minimal as possible. This should allow a reader’s focus to be placed on the whole page, as a piece of art, and at the same time maintain the readability of the poems, unless purposefully obfuscated.
